| They always seem to be waiting. And in Montana, that's just about everywhere. Dogs are a big deal out here. They are man's and woman's best friend. Often they wait in the back of pickup trucks (although I'm told that the Bitter Root Humane Association frowns on dogs riding there). By the way, http://www.bitterroothumane.org/ does a great job with adoptions. |
Dogs wait patiently outside of restaurants...
 |
| ...For instance, this handsome hound rests in the bike-rack area of Missoula's Caffe Dolce on a beautiful fall day, I might add. |
At Chico Hot Springs, near Yellowstone, two black woofs wait at a series of wagon-wheel chairs.

In the Democratic Party Parade, Willow wears a party T-shirt and waits for the event to start.

| Sage, my neighbor's dog, will greet me at the fence with a ball that she spits out and then waits for me to return. She also often waits there for her favorite, Karol, to come home from work. |

| On a hike in summer, you may see a pooch waiting while his fellow hiker adjusts the pack (pardon my index finger in the frame). |
 |
| Tigre (who looks scared but really isn't) waits on the kitchen floor of Eric's house for another tummy rub. |
 |
| And Vinny, the sweetest Jack Russell in the Bitterroot, waits on a sofa at Mary and Kelsey's while visiting humans coo over his cuteness. Should we get a dog? |
